Book Direct with the Owner at Casa Carboni with Townsville Tourism in Angaston, for all your restaurant and Food Reservations.
People say coming into Casa Carboni is like being transported to Italy for a day.... Open for coffee, hand made cakes and breakfast bruschetta, lunch of delicate hand made pasta changes daily. The Friday night wine bar is fun and relaxed, open for just a glass of wine or let Matteo prepare for you a few tapas or some delicious pasta and share a bottle of wine. Owners Fiona & Matteo Carboni close for the month of July each year and return to Italy to visit family, friends & suppliers, selecting the wines they will import to Australia and offer on their wine list at Casa Carboni. Food friendly, small production wines that will take you on a journey through Italy & France. The Barossa Farmers Market, open every Saturday morning was the reason Matteo decided to move from Parma in Northern Italy to Angaston in the Barossa Valley. Every Saturday Matteo arrives at the Market at 7.30am to source the best produce from this fertile land before meeting his cooking school guests for the day. 95% of Casa Carboni's fresh produce is sourced locally and the remainder from other regions of South Australia. Matteo attributes his beautiful fresh pasta to the freshest real free range eggs he can find in the valley and South Australian milled Laucke flour. The Cooking School offers weekly hands on cooking classes where Matteo teaches regional Italian recipes using the best of Barossa produce. The day starts with coffee then it's in to the kitchen for 3 hours of cooking where you will create your delicious long Italian lunch. Lunch is served in the Enoteca with a glass of wine. Casa Carboni is also a place to find artisan made Italian and Australian pantry goods, chocolate, linen, knives, glasses and bags.....oh and deck chairs from Ici et La in Sydney!
